Chelsea Football Club have submitted plans of their new 60,000 capacity
stadium to the Fulham and Hammersmith council. The stadium will still
retain the name Stamford Bridge and will cost an estimated £600m.
Included in the application are plans to build a club shop, museum and a
separate restaurant/cafe zone.
If Chelsea are given the go ahead by the council to build the stadium, construction could begin as early as May 2016, with the club vacating the premises at the end of the 2016-17 season to play home matches in London's Wembley stadium. See Pictures of the proposed new stadium after the cut.
